Arabian Nights: Colourful smokey eye

As mentioned just yesterday, today’s post shall be about my very first creation with the gorgeous Sleek Arabian Nights Palette. Which turned out rather smokey and dark, I must admit. Since that is clearly this palette’s theme I won’t accept any “not a daytime look” comments, sorry 😉

I didn’t want to go down the “classic arabian inspired smokey eye” with strong liner route here, I just let myself get inspired by the colours in the palette while doing the look. Seduced by the palette, to be poetic.

…but who knows what this palette will inspire next?

I basically used half of the palette to create this look: Next to Sheherazade’s Tale in the inner corner, I applied Sultan’s Garden all over the lid space. In the outer corner I mainly used Stallion and Sorcerer, which I also used to smugde out the lower lid, in combination with the bluer Black Magic.

The iridescent effect mainly goes to the gorgeousSeashore Frosts Color Tattoo. I used it both as a base underneath Sultan’s Garden as well as dabbing it over it to enhance that blend of green/gold/blue/rose hues. I liked the result that much I have actually been sandwiching more of the metallic color tattoos since then.

Looking at these smokey eyes from a greater distance the look doesn’t appear to be that dark and unwearable anymore, I feel. Especially when paired with a more “neutral” lipstick – of which you’ll soon find a post on here as well. And yes, my hair was still damp there.

For that extra omph I applied the lovely Ardell Demi Wispies – Falsies just give the make up this little extra which makes it a true Smokey Eyes Look.

You will be able to pick this gem of a palette up for a limited time only, at amazon for example. Regarding more swatches and my views on it, click here.

Which colour draws you in the most? Would you like a more neutral look better?
