Make Up Revolution: Essential Mattes

Well yes, another palette. Here with me. Just what I needed the most obviously!

I have posted about this palette last August (!) in a Shopping post, and finally I got the time to sit down and write up my opinion about it and show some Swatches.

This is a completely matte palette by Make Up Revolution – accurately named “Essential Mattes” – who have been releasing tons of new products the past months. Among those were dupes for the greatly popular Urban Decay Naked Palettes – I posted about the Iconic 3 previously.

The Essential Mattes contains 12 colours, from very light to dark, and even incorporates a few splashes of colour with a smooth lavender and a dove colour.

Personally I purchased this palette mostly for it being a perfect collection of every blending colour possible matching any make up look. For just £4 for 14 grams of product it is quite a steal in my opinion. I have also been using the gorgeous lavender and plum shades on their own though.

Currently I am using the lightest shade as a blending/highlighting colour on a daily basis, the three mid-tone brown shades I use frequently as well. The light taupe is the most perfect transition colour, no matter what look you are going for! But yes, unfortunately the single colours don’t have names.

Well, who should get this palette then? I think a short and sweet pro and con list is in order:

Pros

12 matte colours compact in one place, from light to dark
Texture: Soft and pigmented, almost crumbly
Perfect blending shades for both yellow and pink skin tones, matte browns for the crease
Splashes of colour and gorgeous plum tones!
Lovely for make up enthusiasts with a need for matte (blending) shadows
Very affordable, available online as well as in Superdrug

The first four light shadows barely are distinguishable once on the skin, very subtle
In my opinion some of these should’ve been ditched for more grey, taupe or brown shades
Not exactly for people who like to work with one palette, as the “shimmery taupe” lid colour is missing – it is basically an addition in collections
Only available online for rest of Europe

Jaja, eine weitere Palette. Bei mir. Was mir halt noch wirklich fehlt in der Sammlung!

Diese Palette habe ich im August (!) in einem Shopping Beitrag gezeigt, und jetzt endlich komme ich dazu, ein paar weitere Worte dazu zu verlieren, bzw. die Swatches zu zeigen.

Es handelt sich um eine vollständig matte Palette von Make Up Revolution – passend “Essential Mattes” genannt – die bekanntlich in den letzten Monaten ziemlich viele neue Produkte auf den Markt gebracht haben. Ua. etwa auch die Dupes zu den Urban Decay Naked Paletten – Iconic 3 habe ich ja schon gezeigt.

Die Essential Mattes enthält 12 Farben von hell bis dunkel und schmeißt mit einem Lavendel und Taubenblau auch etwas Farbe rein.

Ich habe mir die Palette eigentlich rein mit dem Hintergedanken, perfekte Blendefarben für jedwedes Make Up kompakt an einem Platz zu haben, zugelegt. Mit £4 für 14g eine durchaus gerechtfertigte Ausgabe, wie ich finde, da die Farben in der Tat zu ziemlich jedem Make Up passen! Dabei muss ich sagen, dass ich besonders die Pflaumen- und Lavendeltöne schon häufig auch für eigenständige Looks verwendet habe.

Persönlich verwende ich den hellsten Ton fast täglich als Blender/Highlighter und auch die drei mittleren Braun-Taupe Töne kommen sehr häufig zum Einsatz. Das helle Taupe ist eine perfekte Übergangsfarbe, egal um welches Make Up es sich handelt! Und ja, leider haben die einzelnen Farben keine Namen bekommen.

Also, für wen wäre diese Palette nun interessant? Ich denke, eine Pro und Kontra Liste steht hier an:

12 matte Farben an einem Ort, von hell bis dunkel
Textur: Weich und pigmentiert, fast schon bröslig
Perfekte Blendefarben für gelbstichige und rosastichige Hauttöne, matte Brauntöne für die Lidfalte
Farbtupfer für Solo-Looks sind enthalten – grandiose Pflaumentöne!
Für Make Up Enthusiasten mit Bedarf an matter Farbauswahl
Günstig zu haben, sowohl online als auch in der Theke in Superdrug

Die ersten vier, sehr hellen Farben sind aufgetragen kaum zu unterscheiden, sehr subtil
Meiner Meinung nach hätte man stattdessen mehr Grau, Taupe oder Braun einarbeiten sollen
Für Palettenschminker fehlt sicherlich ein “schimmerndes Taupe” als Lidfarbe – es ist eine “Ergänzungspalette” zur Sammlung
Für DACH Raum nur online zu beziehen
