Finally! YES.
Almost a full year in the making (yes, I am serious), I finally got my hands on my US swap parcel last week.
It all started with me commenting on an US blog post about limited Color Tattoos, being terribly sorry for myself how I could not get them anywhere here. Another reader of the blog then contacted me, offering to just get them for me!
Just how likely is it nowadays that people offer help just like so? 😀
And this is the result of it all. To make up for all the shipping costs we both agreed on a slightly larger swap than initially planned. So I “ordered” more products that aren’t available in Europe and as time went by more color tattoos got released and so on and so forth. I really would have liked to get the matte tattoos of the Gilded in Gold Collection but not even my far travelled swap friend could track those down, talking about limited huh!f
And so I got…
Sonia Kashuk Core Tools Large Crease Brush • elf eyes blending brush • Zoeva Eye Blender
Believe it or not: One of the first products on my list was this fairly cheap blending brush by Sonia Kashuk! I’d been seeing it frequently on Tinas channel and the size and shape of it just seemed really handy to me. In comparison to the two brushes above I can already say that the Large Crease Brush is slightly bigger and stiffer than elf but has softer (synthetic) bristles than the brush by Zoeva.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Brightener
Since I am still quite content with the original Instang Age Rewind Concealer, I took the oppotunity to get the “Brightener” shade which is surprise! not available in Europe. The rose tinge and a lighter colour than the fair shade I am using right now, makes it quite different and me quite curious to see the results on the undereye area. A comparison is in the making since I just recently repurchased the fair shade anyway.
Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation 150 Buff
As far as globalisation goes – it didn’t hit cosmetic brands yet I assume! Just like with the Maybelline Concealer, some Revlon Colours and even whole product lines like this Whipped Foundation aren’t even available in the UK. Before I even had thought of the Foundation Friday blog series, I knew I wanted to try this one having read so many positive reviews online. First impression so far: Good! Obviously we’ll meet the Whipped again on a Friday, maybe even in a comparison post along with the MaxFactor Whipped Creme?

Getting to my original reason to swap: The Summer 2013 LE by Maybelline came out with more limited color tattoos, one being Seashore Frosts – a slightly duochrome shade I have been aching for what would seem forever! Don’t get me started on the matte color tattoos here (why? Why US only?) but I, resp. my friend, managed to snatch up the next limited edition at least: This spring’s Dare to Go Nude Collection consists of two very light shades which I deemed too similar to the Barely Beige colour I already own, and Caramel Cool, Nude Compliment and Sleek & Spice…oi! And from there on out I basically was on a roll: This way I finally got the Comfort Zone palette half of the internet and their mother is raving about. I ordered it before the Sleek Garden of Eden was announced even! I tried it today and boy, I am impressed! Being a massive bargain at about $3 this seems a like a true highstreet gem. I am currently editing pictures and swatches…
LORAC Pro Eyeshadow Palette
After the Comfort Zone palette was in my bag it was only a small step up to my deeply desired LORAC Pro Palette. Finally it is mine! Moa-ha-ha! The colour selection and matte/frost relation…I am sure I’ve been swooning over it for over a year. When you convert it, it’s just about 30€ which would make out to not even two L’Oréal foundations here (never mind me calculating in make up here shh). Warning: Mentally prepare for pic spam and swatch porn for this beauty!

And since I packed some goodies for my friend, she got me some as well: All of them are brands you can’t easily get here, even in my colours – no complaints there! 🙂
For anybody interested now: I sent off a MUA palette, a nail varnish by GOSH, a Revlon Lip Butter, as well as Artdeco, Manhattan and Catrice products, along with a magazine etc. It was well received 😉

Ja, endlich! ENDLICH!
Nach über einem Jahr Vorbereitung und Hin- und Herschreiberei (ja, echt), habe ich letzte Woche endlich mein Swap Paket aus den USA erhalten.
Alles hat damit angefangen, dass ich klein-weinerlich unter einem Beitrag zu limitierten US Color Tattoos auf einem US Blog kommentierte und mich daraufhin eine weitere Leserin anschrieb, ob sie mir denn nicht einfach dieses bestimmte Produkt besorgen könne.
Wie wahrscheinlich ist es, dass einem jemand so einen Austausch freiwillig anbietet? 😀
Das ist dann draus geworden. Um die Versandkosten auch voll ausschöpfen zu können, habe ich mir noch weitere Produkte gewünscht, die man hier nicht bekommt bzw. verging die Zeit und wieder kamen Color Tattoos auf den Markt usw. Ich wollte dazwischen auch sehr gern die matten Cremelidschatten aus der Gilded in Gold Collection haben, aber nicht mal meine vielreisende Swap Freundin konnte die irgendwo auftreiben – talking about limited!

Unglaublicherweise eines der ersten Produkte auf meiner Liste: Ein ziemlich günstiger Blendepinsel von Sonia Kashuk. Gerne und oft bei Tina gesehen, und die Form schien mir überaus praktisch. Im direkten Vergleich mit meinen zwei einzigen recht ähnlichen Pinseln ist der Large Crease Brush größer und etwas steifer als elf, aber hat weichere (Synthetik)Borsten als Zoeva.

Nachdem ich immer noch mit dem Löscher hochgradig zufrieden bin, habe ich mir nun auch endlich die “Brightener” Farbe schicken lassen, die es hier, Überraschung, nicht gibt. Rosa getönt und etwas heller als die “Fair” Nuance bin ich schon sehr gespannt, wie sich der Brightener unter den Augen macht! Ein Vergleich wird folgen, da ich mir sogar erst kürzlich den Löscher nachgekauft habe.

Wie auch beim Maybelline Löscher, gibt es auch bei Revlon nicht alle Farben oder gar Produkte im europäischen Raum – die Revlon Whipped bekommt man nicht mal in UK! Schon vor dem Foundation Friday war mir klar, dass ich diese Foundation nach den vielen positiven Berichten probieren wollte. Erster Eindruck: Gut! Natürlich wird diese Foundation in Bälde an einem Freitag hier auftauchen, vielleicht auch ein Vergleichsbeitrag zur MaxFactor Whipped Creme?

Zum eigentlichen Swap Grund! In der “Summer 2013” LE bekam man bei Maybelline das wunderschöne Color Tattoo Seashore Frosts – ein leicht duochromer Ton auf den ich mich schon zu lange freue! Wie angesprochen kam ich leider auf diesem Wege auch nicht an die matten Cremelidschatten (wieso nur in den USA? Wieso?), dafür ging sich gerade noch eine “Bestellung” aus der Dare to Go Nude Collection aus diesem Frühjahr aus: Die beiden hellsten Farben der Kollektion waren mir dem Barely Beige Color Tattoo zu ähnlich, aber Caramel Cool, Nude Compliment und Sleek & Spice… oh la la! Und weil ich schon mal dabei war, habe ich mir endlich die Comfort Zone Palette super günstig (knapp 3$!) mitschicken lassen – das war noch bevor die Sleek Garden of Eden angekündigt wurde haha. Heute ausprobiert und ich bin beeindruckt! Besonders für diesen Dollar-Preis ein wahres Kleinod. Ich bereite auch grade die Bilder für Swatches und einen Vergleich mit der GoE vor.
LORAC Pro Eyeshadow Palette
Da die Liste ohnehin immer länger wurde, habe ich mir ein Herz gefasst, und auch noch die LORAC Pro Palette endlich, endlich, endlich in Auftrag gegeben. Die Zusammenstellung an Farben und Finishes…ich habe sie sicher über ein Jahr hingebungsvoll angeschmachtet! Wenn man den Preis auf Euro umrechnet kostet sie knapp 30€ was ja bei uns kaum zwei Foundations von L’Oréal wären. (Ja, ich rechne in Make Up, erm…sh). Stellt euch mental auf Bildporn und Herzchenaugen ein /überschwenglichkitschig
