The Zoeva Graphic Eyes pencils have been accompanying me for a very long time, almost the beginnings of the blog, actually. I ordered the original set in 2011, which I am still enjoying. I have used up the black one, replacing it with the black of the reformulated Graphic Eyes+ version.
I have to say, that reformulation only did the pencils good. Even though they were pigmented and creamy before, the + version now feels like true gel liner. Even though I barely use kajal pencils to do my eyeliner with – I hate, hate that stuttering feeling of pencils! – I love these, they glide smoothly and set to be waterproof!
With the release of five new shades on September 15 there will be 15 colours in total. Exciting news: There will be a red shade!

Can you tell my swatches get lazier and more like a straight line to the right?
As usual: The colours are vibrant and opaque in the first swatch. The swatches dry down quickly and after they set only oily remover will help you get them off.
Opulence is a warm, mid-tone red, almost terracotta-ish. Much cooler and with glitter particles comes New Jewels, a deep purple not suited for the waterline. Cool Factor seems to be a perfect shimmery base – the pencils are so creamy and smooth, blendable on the lid as well – and Glance applied is more exciting than it seems in the pencil. A true rich brown-bronze, easy to quickly swipe on with a lot of mascara, which I have been doing the past few days. Regency is a warmer toned purple than New Jewels and seems more similar to the original Hypnotic pencil.
Not suited for use on the waterline: New Jewels & Cool Factor – which is printed on the liners itself as well. And no, you don’t HAVE to look sicklish with red eyeliner. Really.
A surprise for me has been the choice of new colours, to be honest. With a blackened purple in the product range already, releasing another two purples seems a bit so-so to me. I probably would have liked a taupe, matte nude, forest green or even a bright gold much better.
Comparison
With new products, and especially eye pencils, I always like to see comparisons with existing colours and other brands as well. Spoiler: No real dupes to be found in my collection.

Honestly, I did have my hopes up, but Opulence is not a real replacement for the wonderful-but-discontinued Velvet Flame gel eyeliner after all, the Graphic Eyes+ pencil is much lighter in comparison.
Glance seems to find “dupey friends” in my collection, but no spot-ons. Even though I am not too sure, if p2 or alverde both still carry their versions, since we are in product range changing season…
No dupes for New Jewels and Regency either – I did suspect the Manhattan Pen to be a similarly bright purple but no, Regency seems to have a slightly different undertone.
With Cool Factor I immediately thought of the Light in Purple Color Tattoo – which is basically acurate, just the pencil having a darker base, the blueish-slightly-pinkish shimmer is almost identical in both.
TL; DR
Recommendation! Neutral colours as well as eyecatchers available, extensive longevity after a quick drying time. Colours without glitter last a long time on the waterlines as well. My favourites out of these: Opulence, Glance and Regency.

Die softe, cremige Textur macht die Graphic Eyes+ Liner komfortabel und sanft in der Anwendung. Die hochpigmentierte Formel lässt sich wunderbar farbintensiv verblenden. Nach 60 Sekunden trocknet der Lidstrich zu einem langanhaltenden, wasserfesten Finish.
Die Zoeva Graphic Eyes Stifte begleiten mich schon ziemlich lange, seit den Anfängen des Blogs. 2011 habe ich mir das damalige Set bestellt, ich benutze es heute noch gerne, den schwarzen Stift habe ich schon aufgebraucht und durch die neue Formulierung der Graphic Eyes+ ersetzt.
Ich muss sagen, die Reformulierung der Stifte hat hier wirklich viel gebracht, die Eyeliner waren davor durchaus pigmentiert und gleitend, die + Version fühlt sich wie Gel Eyeliner an. Selbst ich, die nie Kajalstifte für den Lidstrich benutzt, verwende die neuen Stifte richtig gerne. Ich hasse es, wenn Stifte übers Lid “stottern”, aber diese gleitend wie von selbst und wenn setten wasserfest!
Am 15. September kommen fünf neue Farben zu den existierenden zehn Farben dazu. Das Spannende: Es kommt ein Rotton!

Bemerkt man, wie meine Swatches nach rechts immer mehr zum geraden Strich werden?
Wie üblich: Die Farben sind kräftig und deckend, schon im ersten Swatch. Die Swatches waren sehr schnell getrocknet, danach funktioniert nur noch ein ölhaltiger Entferner.
Opulence ist ein sehr warmer, mittlerer Rotton, fast schon im Terracotta Bereich. Kühler und mit Glitzer versetzt, ist New Jewels ein schönes Violett, das aber nicht für die Wasserlinie geeignet ist. Bei Cool Factor sehe ich direkt gute Eigenschaften als Base – die Stifte sind so gleitend-cremig, dass man sie gut auf dem Lid verblenden kann – und Glance sieht viel unauffälliger aus, als das Ergebnis dann ist – ein wahres “rich brown-bronze”, das ich die letzten Tage sehr gerne schnell als Lidtrich mit viel Mascara getragen habe. Regency ist ein wärmeres Lila als New Jewels und gleicht eher dem originalen Hypnotic.
Nicht geeignet für die Wasserlinien im Auge: New Jewels & Cool Factor – steht auch auf den Linern noch einmal drauf. Und nein, man muss mit rotem Eyeliner nicht automatisch kränklich aussehen. Wirklich.
Mich hat lediglich verwundert, dass, obwohl bereits ein geschwärztes Violett im Sortiment ist, nochmal zwei Lila-Töne herausgebracht wurden. Ich hätte ein Taupe, mattes Nude, Tannengrün oder auch strahlendes Gold interessanter gefunden.
Vergleich
Besonders interessant finde ich bei Kajal Stiften ja den Vergleich mit existierenden Farben bzw. anderen Marken. Vorausgeschickt: Absolute Dupes gibt es in meiner Sammlung zu keinem der neuen Stifte.

Ich hatte zwar Hoffnungen, aber Opulence ist doch kein wirklicher Ersatz für den wunderschönen Velvet Flame Gel Eyeliner, der vor längerer Zeit ausgelistet wurde, der Graphic Eyes+ Stift ist viel heller.
Glance findet eher “dupe Freunde”, keine wirklichen Dupes, aber recht ähnlich. Wobei ich nicht sicher bind, ob es sowohl den p2 Stift, nach der großen Auslistung, als auch den alverde Duo Kajal überhaupt noch gibt.
New Jewels und Regency haben ebenfalls kein dupe in meiner Sammlung – ich hatte vermutet, dass der Manhattan Pen ähnlich strahlend Lila wäre, Regency hat aber einen etwas anderen Unterton.
Bei Cool Factor hatte ich gleich das Gefühl, das es grundsätzlich Light in Purple Color Tattoo in Stiftform ist – was auch stimmt, jedoch mit dunklerer Basis. Der blau-pinke Schimmer ist aber fast identisch, mehr blau bei Zoeva, mehr pink bei Maybelline.
TL; DR
Empfehlung! Neutrale Farben wie auch Eyecatcher dabei, lange Haltbarkeit nach der Trocknungszeit garantiert. Farben ohne Glitzer halten auch auf der Wasserlinie besonders lange. Meine Favoriten: Opulence, Glance und Regency.
