Sleek i-Divines Collection and Swatches

As promised, my supermassive post about all my Sleek i-divines! Including Swatches, duh. Yes, any gift showering showing your appreciation is welcome.

To conceal the shame of not owning them all (omgz), I tried finding the best swatches online and linked them respectively.

Some of the online stores that carry Sleek in Europe:

Usually, these palettes cost between £6.50 or about 10 Euros, anything higher than that I would consider a blatant rip-off or probably a highly sought after limited edition palette from the past. The prices stated are the ones I paid for them, so they might be in £ or € depending on where I got them.

I’ve also tried to sort the palettes in chronological order regarding the original release date. Pictures were taken in daylight or under a daylight lamp, so as true to colour as possible.

As usual, the swatches were made with a slightly damp brush without any base on the skin.

Sleek started doing the i-divines in 2007/2008, the first being “The Original”:

The Original

Price: £ 6.49

Status: Permanent | buy on amazon

Colour pay-off: Great. All the shades are shimmers except for the black. They are all highly pigmented, meaning you can basically create any look with any shade out of these. Just a note about the light yellow-gold shade: Greener in the picture than in real life.

Betina Says: Unhesitating recommendation. They colours are insanely pigmented, the colour selection, regarding the fact it’s their first, is pretty good. Whenever you feel they are too soft for you: Wet your brush!

I’ve already blogged about this palette previously.

♥♥♥

Chaos

Price: £ 6.49

Status: Discontinued

Colour pay-off: The weakest palette – by a mile! All the colours are matte. The yellow and white shade are difficult to swatch, the barely show up on the skin even heavily layered. The black and olive tone, however, are pretty decent. These matte shades are rather solid but as with too soft colours, the same trick helps: Wet your brush for better colour pay-off.

Betina Says: The only completely matte i-divine, so far. And you can tell by the colour-pay off that early Sleek had its problems with matte shades just as about any other high street brand in their early stages. With base on the lid they are decent though and I will probably keep it just for the fact to have so many matte shades on hand. I assume they discontinued it due to the poor colour pay-off (resp. the two new, better matte palettes, see below).

♥♥♥

Storm

Price: £ 6.49

Status: Permanent | buy on amazon

Colour pay-off: Excellent. The “weakest” shades are the light matte brown and the lightes gold, which is due to the lightness of these colours. Nothing else I could criticise to be honest, some colours might be too buttery fo some. All of the colours contain heavy shimmer up to metallic finish, except for the two browns and again the black.

Betina Says: Pretty much a staple product for beauty lovers. There, I said it. This palette alone can do it all, basically. Well, all except for “colours” I guess. But soft, neutral, smokey and dramatic eyes, even the brows if you had to depend on this palette alone, are doable. You can only blame yourself if you pass on this high street gem!

♥♥♥

Jewels

Price: £ 7.99

Status: Limited Edition (Fall 2010)

Colour pay-off: Yes, some of the shades indeed look similar to some in the Storm, Safari or Sunset palette…But look at these combinations! The colours are insanely pigmented, the weakest one is the light turquoise, which is also the only matte/satin finish colour. Apart from the black one obviously. The second colour from the first row is slightly more purple in reality.

Betina Says: So when my interest in the i-Divines sparked I couldn’t help but research older palettes, and there it was. This gorgeous palette was a must have for me. Gladly, I could find it for just a bit more than the original price on eBay. My palette doesn’t have the usual Sleek packaging since the seller sold leftover, new testers. If you come across this one: Buy buy buy.

♥♥♥

Acid

Well, I don’t have it and to be honest I don’t feel any desires to purchase neon shades so far. Still available in the Sleek Shop or amazon.

Check out the palette and swatches on xsparkage.com

♥♥♥

Safari

Preis: £ 7.99

Status: Limited Edition (Summer 2009)

Colour pay-off: Good up to very good indeed – the black and the vibrant green are mattes and therefore slightly harder to swatch. All other shades are shimmers and frosts, hence very buttery, almost crumbly but easy to blend. The bright greens in the centre and the first taupey colour in the bottom row are just outstanding.

Betina Says: I got Safari on the same occasion as Jewels so no new exciting hunt story there. The colour selection is quite interesting with this mix of bronzy-neutrals and vibrant greens. I love it.

♥♥♥

Curious

Very blue indeed. Just not my palette of colour, you can find it on eBay occasionally.

Check out the palette and swatches on Shine, Shimmer & Sparkle.

♥♥♥

Sunset

Preis: £ 6.49

Status: Permanent | buy on amazon

Colour pay-off: Really nothing left to say here: Each one of the colours swatches splendidly! The black could be deeper but all the shades look exactly as they do in the pan. The consistency is just how I like it, not too soft, not too hard. All colours are shimmers but the black.

Betina Says: I admit yes, at first I thought this one was a pass for me. But a) you don’t have to combine all the colours in a palette at once and b) I do enjoy reddish and orangey shades on the lid at times! If you do enjoy that as well – you found your match in this palette!

♥♥♥

Graphite

Since I do have and like the Bad Girl palette I stayed strong and decided not to get this entirely grey smokey-eye palette.

Check out the palette and swatches on lipglossiping.

♥♥♥

Circus

Non-black packaging, omgz! The colours all are – as the name would suggest – bright and colourful. Pretty rare and sought after by now. Snatch it if you can!

Check out the palette and swatches on The Glamorous Gleam.

♥♥♥

Bohemian

Price: € 8,49

Status: Limited Edition (Spring 2010)

Colour pay-off: And another palette with great pigmentation throughout, and that with – hold your breath! – almost all matte colours! Only three eyeshadows in the palette shimmer. Have you ever seen such vibrant purple or blue…?

Betina Says: After a long hunt I finally got my hands on it. Well, I would’ve never caved and paid like ridiculous 20€ on eBay for it but for the original price? Vibrant matte colours – yes please! I’ve already blogged about it with more detailed swatches here.

♥♥♥

Good Girl

What somehow feels like half a blush palette is part of a two-palette edition. This one didn’t make it in the permanent line like its bad sister.

Check out the palette and swatches on Imogen Foxy Looks.

♥♥♥

Bad Girl

Price: £ 6.49

Status: Permanent | buy on amazon

Colour pay-off: Incredible! Almost too good tbh, Even the lightest shades and the two mattes are playing along here. Remember I didn’t use a base, just a damp brush. I have to point out that the two greens just seem identical on my picture, the one on the far left is slightly lighter in reality.

Betina Says: Finally a palette with names for the single shadows! Also one of the first “limited edition” palettes that became part of the permanent line in the end. To be frank, I had to have it just for the name. The purples! The greys! If you love smokey eyes with a pop of colours, you have to get this.

♥♥♥

Sparkle

The palette I forgot to list at first – well, I guess it just didn’t stick with me since I am not really an avid glitter eyeshadow user. And this one, which came out during Christmas time, really does its name justice.

Check out the palette and swatches on tackyblueeyeshadow.

♥♥♥

The Primer Palette

Price: £ 6.99

Status: Permanent | buy on amazon

Colour pay-off: Surprisingly enough the pigmentation is great. Even the white one seems to be quite nice. The consistency is nice, a colour for every look. I should mention that Peach and Money Honey don’t look so alike in real life.

Betina Says: Tbh I just wanted this palette to err have it. I used to be a cream eyeshadow hater and yes, that’s what they are: Cream Eyeshadows. I can barely use any creamy textures on my lids without them melting away instantly. Whoever doesn’t have such issues should be very pleased with a palette like this. I advise using a proper eyeshadow base underneath to make them wear better, I like how it contains a white and black shade which come handy when using duochrome shadows.

♥♥♥

Paraguaya – aus der avoir la pêche collection

Even though I came across this palette while I was in London I didn’t pick it up. I still have no real desire for a full palette of orange eyeshadows, I am content with the shades I got from the Sunset one tbh.

Check out the palette and swatches on Sparklz and Shine.

♥♥♥

Monaco – aus der Mediterranean collection

Price: £ 6.99 – I’ve won it in a giveaway!

Status: Limited Edition (Summer 2011)

Colour pay-off: To get it out of the way right away – esp. the mattes are weak in this palette. Kiwi Zest, however, is very nicely pigmented but also too soft and crumbly, same with Lotus Flower. The rest of the shimmers aren’t that loose.

Betina Says: To be frank, I am glad I’ve got this one for free – I probably wouldn’t have bought it. The colour selection is nice and you can certainly do a lot of looks with it. This is also the only palette without the obligatory matte black so far! Midnight Garden seems like a substitute though, wonderful midnight blue, it combines beautifully with Humming Bird and Moors Treasure.

I’ve already blogged about it with more detailed swatches here.

♥♥♥

Oh So Special

Price: £ 6.99

Status: Permanent | buy on amazon

Colour pay-off: Even though Bow and Pamper are matte and  light in colour, they look quite nice in the swatch, don’t they? And even though Organza and Gateau obviously are the palette’s gems – they almost have a duochrome hue! – my favourite shade definitely is Wrapped Up. This shade works beautifully in the crease and is much softer than the matte black.

Betina Says: One of my all time favourite palettes by Sleek! There, I said it. I finally could snatch it up in London ♥ Wrapped Up in combination with either Organza or Gateau is one of my staple looks. But there are so many brownish-purplish combinations possible! And even though there are two rather pink shades in there I honestly love this palette dearly. The lightest pink is perfect for blending actually. I use it frequently and am glad to see it got a spot in Sleek’s permanent product range.

♥♥♥

Curaçao – aus der Caribbean collection

Price: £ 6.99

Status: Limited Edition (Summer 2011)

Colour pay-off: Sadly the picture doesn’t do palette nor swatches justice in this case. The colours are way more vibrant. A real eyecatcher for me is that perfect, matte purple shade, the red one is slightly orangey but hey, a matte red! Blue Hawaiian is the weakest of the bunch.

Betina Says: As said earlier, I can do without neon eyeshadows like the ones in the Acid palette. A brightly colourful palette though is a different story, I just couldn’t walk past it! The eyeshadows keep their promising look – whambaminyourfacebright! I don’t always wear bright looks myself but from time to time and when combined wisely you can even get daily life looks out of this one.

I’ve already blogged about it with more detailed swatches here.

♥♥♥

Au Naturel – aus der Nude collection

Price: € 7,50

Status: Permanent | buy on amazon

Colour pay-off: The first row, except “Taupe”, consists of matte shades. Light, matte shades. Therefore, they really aren’t the brightest or most pigmented I guess. Regal and Noir are mattes as well but their darkness provides a lot more pigmentation. I feel I don’t really need to talk about the shimmery colours in this one; they just are insanely gorgeous. Conker has a slight purple undertone which is sadly not visible in my picture.

Betina Says: This might have been the first palette I didn’t buy myself right in the UK. And I may say that palette has a good home with me – even though I use it daily at times. I guess it was a wise decision to make this neutral palette permanently available as well – every brand should carry good nude eyeshadows imho.

I’ve already blogged about it with more detailed swatches here.

♥♥♥

Me, Myself & Eye

Price: € 8,69-9,99

Status: Limited Edition (Feb 2012)

Colour pay-off: Much better than expected! The matte colours, like Chris de Burgundy, are smooth and even when used with a wet brush. Simply Red seems more pink in a blended state, more vibrant red when packed on. The weakest in pigmentation are Barry White and Golden Silvers but a wet brush helps greatly to bring out the colours.

Betina Says: As this was a sample to “complete” my collection I totally see the loads of combinations now! I should never downplay these seemingly “chaotic” compilations from Sleek I assume…

♥♥♥

Ultra Mattes

Not really my cup of tea – so far. Who knows what the future will bring…

Check out the palette and swatches on Nihrida.

V2 Darks

Price: £ 6.49

Status: Permanent | buy on amazon

Colour pay-off: Sleek obviously learned their lesson with the Chaos palette. These solely matte eyeshadows are way more pigmented, not chalky and with wet application almost creamy in texture! Highness seems more blue in the swatch, apparently there was residue on the brush, sorry about that. Villan is obviously a favourite again, just like Maple…but there’s also Orbit and Fern…

Betina Says: Bought it in London and yes, I am quite delighted with my purchase! Most of these matte shades are perfectly suited for the crease and somehow hard to get on that level of pigmentation.

I’ve already blogged about it with more detailed swatches here.

♥♥♥

Snapshots

Cobbled together from the Curaçao and Monaco palettes, anybody who’s got both of those palettes yet really has no need for this one!

Check out the palette and swatches on Makeup Sunny.

♥♥♥

Glory – aus der 2012 Collection

Price: € 8,99-9,99

Status: Limited Edition (Summer 2012)

Colour pay-off: A sight for sore eyes! All the colours are truly vibrant, Tube and Overground need more work for such a pigmented swatch but that’s only natural for light colours. In the swatch, Tube is even showing a slight hue of duochrome…and no, I didn’t switch the swatches of Tube and Overground! Bakerloo and Central are probably the most pigmented of the bunch, the usual matte Noir got exchanged to a more satin finish.

Betina Says: I didn’t buy it at first, but the design and names of the colours are just to die for! Personally, I like bright colours once in a while and since the first row actually is kind of neutral anyway I am happy I got my hands on it after all.

♥♥♥

PPQ Collection 2012

Price: € 8,99-9,99

Status: Limited Edition (Fall 2012)

Colour pay-off: Average to good with the three lightest colours, they work perfectly fine on the lid though. White and Cameo Cream are great highlighting shades, Count Basi Beige you can barely makeout on my skin since it’s an almost exact match of my skintone. The other colours are as highly pigmented as one would expect from Sleek. Otis Red is a satin finished red with a pink hue. O’Jays is a lovely shimmery orange with pink, it almost seems like a mixture of Otis and Aretha Orange. Motown Mink and Shalamar are just perfect for blending out the crease.

Betina Says: Matt-neutral with red you say? Oy! Somebody’s been reading my mind. Respect is even more beautiful to look at in real life than on my pictures. This palette pretty much got it all – a dark matte red, light matte blending shades and a shimmery taupe and variations of red as lid colours. And as always an intensely pigmented matte black, perfect for liner and smokey eyes.

I’ve already blogged about it with more detailed swatches here.

Supreme

Mh, blue, grey, khaki…the combination looks interesting in itself – just not to me.

Check out the palette and swatches on Midnight Violets.

♥♥♥

Sparkle II

Just like Sparkle I the second variation isn’t my cup of tea either, glitter…fallout…you get me.

Check out the palette and swatches on BritishBeautyBlogger.

♥♥♥

Lagoon

Pastel, light, spring colours! This palette came out as part of the Aqua Collection in spring 2013, colourful and “fun” but it just didn’t tickle my fancy enough to actually get it.

Check out the palette and swatches on Of Faces and Fingers.

♥♥♥

Showstoppers

Price: £ 6.49

Status: Limited Edition (April 2013) | buy on amazon

Colour pay-off: Excellent. There are five matte colours in this one – Paraguaya, Oh So Special, Bohemian, Storm and Ultramattes V2, all are nicely pigmented. Storm is a much firmer eyeshadow than OSS, for example. Of all the shimmery shades, Graphite seems to be the most pigmented of all, even though I can’t really complain about the rest. As you can see in the swatches above.

Betina Says: Just for Bohemian alone I would’ve bought this palette, to be honest. That “glittery shade” Au Naturel actually has a matte base which I quite appreciate. There’s also a matte highlighter shade and lots of pretty wash-of-colour ones like Sunrise, Bad Girl and Graphite. A lovely compilation of colours in this one, I pretty much can use them all.

I’ve already blogged about it with more detailed swatches here.

♥♥♥

i-Candy

More pastel, candy-like colours. This palette originally came out as part of the Candy Collection in Summer 2013, but yet again it just didn’t grab me enough to actually get it. It is still available and part of the permanent line now, apparently.

Check out the palette and swatches on Beauty Redefined.

♥♥♥

Vintage Romance

Price: £ 7.99

Status: Permanent (September 2013) | buy on amazon

Colour-Payoff: Absolutely great, just as expected. The “weakest” – not really – shade might be Romance in Rome. They are not chalky or crumbly at all, a slightly damp brush gives you creamy, highly pigmented results just like a good eyebase does on the lid.

Betina Says: Just gorgeous compilation, I really don’t know what else to say. All of the shades are great to wear in endless combinations. The black colour is slightly glittery in this palette, like a breath of fresh air after so many matte Noirs so far. The other two glittery shadows are matte in their bases. Just one of the shades in here is truly matte – and even though it is a nice blending colour I would’ve appreciated one more matte, light highlighting/blending type of eyeshadow, maybe in exchange of one of the berry ones. All in all well balanced though.

I’ve already blogged about it with more detailed swatches here.

♥♥♥

Celestial

Price: £ 7.99/ca. 10€

Status: Limited Edition (November 2013) | buy on amazon

Colour-Payoff: Just the usual great pigmentation. The most difficult shades were Stargazer and Terrestrial due to their lightness again. Instead of the usual ~2 layers I used 3 with those shades to get a true to colour result.

Betina Says: The most interesting shade here surely is Eclipse, a warm mid-tone brown with green shimmer. The colour selection in total seems chaotic again, on a closer look it makes more sense. Personally I really like the look of Meteoric and Solar as well.

I’ve already blogged about it with more detailed swatches here.

♥♥♥

Garden of Eden

Price: £ 7.99/ca. 10€

Status: Limited Edition (Januar 2014) | buy on amazon

Colour-Payoff: As always – do I sound like a broken record here? – the frosts and shimmers are immensly pigmented. But following the latest palettes, the mattes and glitters with matte bases are just as good! The weakest colour is – the usual again – the lightest matte shade Adam’s Apple. Using a base/damp brush or more layers it works perfectly fine though.

Betina Says: The first row can well stand its ground next to the ever-so-hyped NAKED 3 palette by Urban Decay imho. The combination with green does well with the palette’s name/theme and turns the whole package into something Sleek has never shown before. Yes, I must admit, not all colours will go well with every single eye colour but personally, I have brown-greenish eyes, Sleek have outdone themselves! One of their best palettes in my opinion, up next to Vintage Romance or Oh So Special.

I’ve already blogged about it with more detailed swatches here.

♥♥♥

Del Mar Vol I.

Price: £ 7.99/ca. 10€

Status: Limited Edition (April 2014) | buy on amazon

Colour-Payoff: Chilled Out and Paradise are the weakest shades in this one, by far. A rich, matte white is half a mircale really. The other colours show the Sleek-usual pigmentation; it should be mentioned that a whole of seven shades are matte. The only true frosts here are Lounge Lovers and Opening Party (blue shimmer!). Keep in mind this palette is less “richly vibrant” than one would assume at first glance!

Betina Says: Obviously, the red-pink catches your eye right away, personally though, I would like to point out Ambience and Talamanca as well. This palette is just a roundup of perfect spring shades: The colours are light, bright and colourful – but not too vibrant, pastell more like. Which makes them easier to blend and to wear too of course. There’s no hard matte black again but a midtone brown, the perfect crease shade. Combined the right way, this palette also makes for great everyday-wear-looks!

I’ve already blogged about it with more detailed swatches here.

♥♥♥

Rio Rio

As for summer 2014 and the football Word Cup in Brazil, Sleek released a vibrant and bright palette on its own. I didn’t get it because so many other palettes in my collection contain bright colours I only randomly use anyway.

Check out the palette and swatches on Laura’s corner.

♥♥♥

Arabian Nights

Price: £ 7.99/ca. 10€

Status: Limited Edition (July 2014) | buy on amazon | Boots

Colour-Payoff: Sorcerer is definitely the weakest link in the palette. It is a fairly interesting shade when built up though. The rich pearly black is new in the i-divines series and I really like the change! The rest of the palette is quite nicely pigmented, Simbad’s Sea for example is very vibrant. A smokey, autumn palette.

Betina Says: The first thing that caught my eye was Simbad’s Sea, a bright blue-purple. Interestingly enough you can get neutral eyes as well as smokey deep looks out of it. It is like a mashup of both Storm and Vintage Romance – see above. I quite like the smokey-ness that’s going on!

I’ve already blogged about it with more detailed swatches here.

♥♥♥

To be quite frank I cannot tell you which of these all is my absolute favourite palette. However, I must admit that you can never go wrong with the three most neutral palettes Storm, Au Naturel and Oh So Special. Also, I did not link make up with specific palettes, I use all of them on a frequent base in my looks so feel free to just browse my blog looking for inspiration.

Generally speaking, the shimmery eyeshadows are softer and better pigmented. The matte colours got a lot better in the latest palettes though. Some of the shimmery colours are so buttery they might produce fallout, I recommend always tapping off the excess.

As always I will edit this post whenever new i-Divines get released.

Well then, I sure hope this post met everybody’s expectations and helps deciding which palettes to get

Which Sleek i-Divines do you have? If you don’t have any at all, why not? Do you tend to buy single eyeshadows over palettes? Which one of my collection do you like best?
