Taupe… & other stories

Yes. I know. It’s spring, we have to blush peachy-pink and most importantly glow now!

Well, no. Not really.

I don’t even want to state I wouldn’t like a nice breeze of freshness in my blushing habits, with sheen obviously, but I cannot for the life of me get away from that Rosy Taupe! The whole year around I am enjoying my love affair with Taupe and All things TAUPE!

In February, after my last New In Posting, I purchased a blusher at & other stories – without doing any research beforehand whatsoever. Just by swatching the testers I got convinced to buy, imagine! I admit I was quite torn between shades but due to the price I decided to go with my safe bet colour.

& other stories offers a grand total of 16 Blusher shades, of which Canvas Taupe seems to be one of the most neutral colours. This blusher is completely matte, some of the other colours have a Satinfinish or contain a slight shimmer, all in all a very attractive colour selection. As mentioned above, I only gave in to the £10 price because the texture is just…gorgeous! Soft, buttery and highly pigmented. The colours I swatched back then almost felt creamy-smooth.

This great texture also got the ‘disadvantage’ that the imprint wears off rather quickly if you use the blusher regularly – quicker when swatched with fingers obviously.

The acryl packaging seems fairly similar to the ones we know by Catrice, maybe a tad bit sturdier. Another interesting fact is, that & other stories does have a rewarding system: If you bring back an empty packaging of their cosmetics range, the store grants you 10% off the next purchase, if I remember correctly.

Well, all in all – I just got a soft spot for rosy taupes! I snatched some of my other taupe-y blushers to compare them to Canvas Taupe. Judging by the colour alone, some of them seem rather close even though they are shimmery:

1 & other stories Canvas Taupe • 2 Korres Purple Brown • 3 17 Damson Wine • 4 17 Brickie • 5 Catrice Light Burgundy

As you can see – I really needed Canvas Taupe after all 😉 The only shade that looks remotely similar out of these is Damson Wine by 17 and that one is of a satin finish. Well! Sadly, I cannot provide a picture of Canvas Taupe applied on the cheeks at the moment as I got down with a cold right now. For me, & other stories turns out to be a great addition to the shops I occasionally browse for interesting beauty products. If I am completely honest even, just the pricepoint is holding me back to get more right away…Eyebrow Cream etc…

Ja.

& other stories bietet insgesamt grandiose 16(!)

1 & other stories Canvas Taupe • 2 Korres Purple Brown • 3 17 Damson Wine • 4 17 Brickie • 5 Catrice Light Burgundy

Also…ja, ne!
